About
As you no doubt have already discerned, my name is Caleb Abercrombie and I am an artist. I graduated from school in 2024, with a bachelor's degree in Illustration. At art school I studied human figure, drafted perspective, and perhaps most importantly began to question why I love to draw. I am also a wood worker. I have learned how to mill lumber, how to reproduce joinery quickly and precisely and how to edition my work. Where my illustrations are abstract, dealing with hypotheticals, my 3d work is primarily functional. I take inspiration from industrial design, from physics, as well as music, emotion and philosophy.
However it is nature itself that inspires me the most. Whether it be hiking grand peaks, camping in evergreen forests or trudging through swaths of snow carpeted meadows, it is the simple act of living in which we all partake that is the most powerful. It is beautiful, puzzling, fascinating and everywhere, it is a primal sort of love that forces one to pick up a pencil, or perhaps a whittling knife, and create. It is of utmost importance to me to share my designs and projects with others. If you have any questions or ideas concerning my projects please reach out. cabercrombieart@gmail.com |
